Framestore is looking for a Senior Asset Artist to join our staff CG team in our New York office.


This is a senior role in the CG team that will be responsible for asset creation across a variety of high end content within our Integrated Advertising division which can include commercials, episodic, and immersive projects. The Senior Asset Artist will be expected to take a hands-on approach to creating highly accurate and efficient CG assets across a variety of styles with an emphasis in photoreal organic modeling. The Senior Asset Artist should also have considerable knowledge in texturing as well as a basic understanding of look development.


This is a full-time staff role with benefits, and although we are currently working remotely, this position will eventually require at least some onsite work in our New York studio.


Responsibilities:

  • Creating models as briefed and/or in line with reference materials

  • Execute accurate textures, colors, and organic surface qualities for both CG creatures and hard surface models

  • Understanding and following outlined naming conventions

  • Maintaining and enforcing a strong pipelined workflow for asset building across the team whilst ensuring it's continued evolution

  • Presenting models for progress review to leads, supervisors and clients

  • Ensuring consistency of UV mapping

  • Communicating with other departments and production in order to ensure that the model meets relevant requirements

  • Making changes or updates to models as required

  • Ongoing communication with production and leads regarding schedules and deadlines

  • Staying on schedule and meeting set deadlines while maintaining the highest levels of quality

  • Mentoring junior CG team members and supporting their continued development of their modeling/texturing skills

Job requirements

  • Extensive working knowledge of Maya and Zbrush

  • Good working knowledge of Substance Painter and/or Mari

  • Creative, resourceful and with strong spatial awareness

  • Very strong polygonal subdivision modelling skills

  • Efficient with layout of UVs and awareness of texture requirements

  • Able to interpret and follow reference material to create clean, highly detailed and accurate models

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to organise own workflow in a meticulous manner

  • Able to work well within a team

  • Creative conceptual sculpting

  • Knowledge of anatomy

  • Must have valid US work authorization
