Framestore is an Oscar, Bafta and Emmy award-winning global creative company working in film, advertising and content, with a focus on animation and VFX projects. We are looking for a talented, focused and forward thinking Systems Administrator to join our team as we work to deliver to the challenges of large scale feature film post-production.
The Systems team is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting the technology infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, storage, networking, workstations and rendering. It also includes the various software elements around both the core operating system(s) and the various application layer components that are deployed upon that framework.
We are looking for a strong and experienced Systems Administrator, working in Linux environments, with Windows OS support, a bonus. A Systems Administrator is part of the Level 2 team with other mids and seniors. The L2 team works on maintenance, escalations and developments. They are to set an example for Juniors, Support Assistants and Support Admins. They are encouraged to propose and work on (and sometimes lead) projects that will advance the technology framework. This includes elements of project management, communication across other departments, the delegation of tasks and coordination of schedules.
A Systems Administrator performs daily duties of maintenance on applications, OS, hardware, monitoring resources and troubleshooting.
They will be on-call (on a call rotation) providing out of hours support in case of a show stopping issue
Either Fluent in a Redhat based Linux Or Windows OS, workstation and server
Configuration Management (Puppet, Ansible)
Scripting language (bash, python, powershell)
Source control, Gitlab, Perforce.
Supporting storage solutions on GPFS, Solaris, Linux and Windows
Experience with Virtualization technologies ideally VMWare.
Remote working protocols, PCoIP, NoMachine, RemoteApps.
Networking (Layer2, Layer3 including dynamic routing and VPN tunnels)
Strong self-guided problem solving skills
A commitment to teamwork, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related experience.
Experience with building and running containers using Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Google and Azure.
Experience working with Agile teams
Windows server, LDAP and Active Directory management
Windows Systems administration and deployment (WDS, WPKG, WSUS)
Familiarity with vfx post production pipeline
Familiar supporting software packages like Maya, Nuke, UnrealEngine
