The CG Artist requires a broad knowledge and experience of the entire 3D pipeline, with a focus on producing sophisticated visual effects and/or CG look development. Tasks may include modeling, texturing, lighting, shading, and rendering. CG Artists must possess a blend of technical and creative skill on the box with the flexibility to work on a wide range of projects, with the desire to grow as a CG artist and to expand their knowledge base, while always striving to produce CG content to the highest level.
This is a full-time staff role with benefits, and although we are currently working remotely, this position will eventually require working onsite in our Los Angeles studio.
Working on CG aspects of projects to the highest standard under direction from CG/VFX Supervisors and more senior members of the CG artist team
Working with the producers, supervisors and CG artists to deliver projects on time and with high quality CG
VFX industry experience of 2+ years
Experienced in Maya and/or Houdini
Comprehensive knowledge of VFX pipelines, production and workflows
Understanding of all other disciplines within VFX, including modeling and UV mapping, texturing, camera tracking and FX
Experience in shot look development
Knowledge of lighting techniques
Knowledge of rendering packages, such as Arnold, V-ray and Mantra
A strong sense of aesthetic and the desire to push boundaries.
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Creative problem solver with strong attention to detail
A collaborative work ethic
Ability to work well under pressure & meet deadlines whilst maintaining high quality results
Understanding of linux/unix based operating systems, preferred
Must have valid US work authorization
