DMP Supervisors are responsible for managing the DMP work across either multiple shows, or single large shows. Working closely with the CG Departments, and show LP and CG Supervisor within our Film and Episodic VFX division to deliver images of the highest quality for film and episodic productions.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate and work closely with the Heads of Environments in other locations.
Work closely with production to schedule DMP work and assign the artists based on show needs, and assist in strategies on how to navigate busy periods.
Attend artists briefings to ensure good communication, and support more junior artists to fulfil the brief
To be aware at all times of current & future (potential) work and the projects’ various DMP requirements.
Support recruitment to hire new artists, and with interviews
Meet regularly with other HODs to ensure efficient workflows and support in any technical challenges and innovation on shows.
Accompany and assist the HOD for monthly global DMP/ENV meetings to discuss training needs and contribute to ongoing department development.
Assist the department manager to plan crewing assignments to shows and managing the artists.
Implement and deliver technical solutions in collaboration with the Environment Supervisor.
Stay informed with pipeline development and changes and be proactive in testing and providing feedback to new technology and workflows
Have an overview of the different DMP challenges on the show/shows and offer practical ideas and hands-on solutions when needed
Stimulate team cohesion and homogeneous workflows where sensible & possible.
Work closely with Modeling, Texturing, Comp, Animation, attending relevant dailies to be aware of current show issues and demands.
DMP Essential Skills:
Extensive knowledge and production experience of Photoshop, Nuke and Maya
Good understanding of VFX and shot workflow
The ability to work within a team of other DMP Artists or independently
A commitment to creative collaboration within the team and with other departments
Proactive and excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
Creative problem-solving skills
The proven ability to work well under pressure
Open to direction and able to embrace change
Bilingual and excellent communication Skills
Attention to detail
Knowledge of Python is a plus
