We’re looking for a Product Manager to join the Systems Engineering team in our technology group. The technology group comprises a number of teams which, whilst being technologically diverse, work together to support the goal of creating best-in-class digital content. You will be reporting to the Global Head of Systems Engineering and will be working closely with other management, product, and leadership teams. As the majority of team members are London-based, you will be expected to be able to work from the London office when required.
The Systems Engineering team provide the highest level of expert technical support to other systems teams and provide a range of technical products and services to the entire company for a number of core areas:
Cloud infrastructure
Networking
Storage
Linux & Windows VMs, desktops, servers and OSs
Render compute
By working in partnership with other teams in the technology group, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring that the company operates effectively, producing cutting edge visuals on time and on budget. You’ll help us pave the way into the future of digital content production, building an ecosystem of products that enable success in emerging workflows.
Responsibilities:
Define the overall vision and strategy for the Systems Engineering team specifically, and for the future technical infrastructure of Framestore generally, particularly with a view on site reliability engineering
Build effective relationships with stakeholders and service providers to identify opportunities for building, buying and partnering on technologies that drive the company’s vision forwards
Evaluate new opportunities and use cases that create value for stakeholders and end-users
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, both within the Systems Engineering team and across the broader technology groups, across a diverse portfolio of in-house products that solve a wide range of problems
Own the roadmap for solving a unique set of challenges in the media and entertainment sector
Prioritise competing initiatives from technical and non technical teams
Form and test hypotheses, backed by data
Be accountable for success and failure through clearly defined success criteria that you continually measure progress against
Champion product discipline in a growing organisation
Essential Skills:
You have 3+ years experience with shipping B2B or in-house products, particularly with a mind towards site reliability engineering
You’ve taken products from initial brief, through design, to release and beyond
You’ve iterated on established products
You might have a working knowledge of the visual effects industry, but you’ll definitely have a desire to learn more about the workflows and technologies in use across the industry
You are able to simplify complex problems, systems, or processes into component parts, exploring and evaluating them systematically
You have proven stakeholder management and product prioritisation skills
You know enough about systems architecture to understand how things work, but leave the technical aspects of the how to developers
Framestore staff have the option to split their work time between home and the office, though some office attendance will be expected for certain team meetings, so the candidate will need to be able to commute into central London easily.
