Framestore is now looking to bring the same level of excellence to our real-time Engine capabilities. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to join the global Systems Engineering development team. This is a small team of around 17 engineers who work collaboratively, share experiences, knowledge and provide peer review and feedback.
The role’s focus will be:
provide expert Windows support to our real-time Engine team
develop global Microsoft Windows services at Framestore and integrate with the larger more established Linux infrastructure.
enhance and support Framestore’s in-house Windows Device Management System, a recently completed product which automates remote configuration management of our Windows workstation estate
The successful candidate will be working in a DevOps/SRE role in an Agile team that is also the most senior (level3) point of escalation for systems support requests. Whilst the role will principally involve the development of Windows services, it will also require knowledge of Linux to help with the global integration of projects and service deployments. The ideal candidate will have a desire to use existing skills as much as learning new ones.
You will report to the head of the department and will work closely with technical teams in the Systems Engineering department and collaborate with engineers from other technology groups.

Drive forward the development of Microsoft infrastructure with a focus on Active Directory and Windows Orchestration and Management technologies.
Develop Microsoft infrastructure to accommodate the growing diverse mix of on-premises, cloud, and remote workloads.
Working with Global development teams to continue the integration of Microsoft servers and workstations into a predominantly Linux environment.
Help maintain and enhance Framestore’s Windows Device Management System
Manage and support existing Windows environment with a focus on stability and security
Mentor Systems Engineering staff on Microsoft OS Administration and best practises.
Help to develop policies and formal documentation for systems and processes.
Provide an escalation point for Microsoft related systems support issues
Lead Windows maintenance and automation projects and initiatives.
Research and evaluate emerging relevant technologies and services.
Construction and workflow required to maintain a test domain deployment
Experience working in a Microsoft Systems Engineering role.
Extensive experience with Active Directory design, architecture, and management for enterprise-scale deployments.
Extensive knowledge of Windows deployment and Application management systems
MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or equivalent certifications.
Advanced Powershell (e.g. functions and modules).
Expertise in deploying and maintaining business-critical applications and solutions.
Extensive experience managing GPO's
Experience with cloud AD deployments
Working knowledge of windows security best practises
Experience with Git, Scrum/Agile methodology, and working within CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with WDS, WSUS, MDT, Ansible or Puppet, PowerShell DSC
Experience with Chocolatey
Experience of working with Jira, Confluence
Experience with maintaining, migrating, and supporting cloud-based deployments
Experience with cloud-based solutions around compute, storage and network
Experience with RDS (Remote Desktop Services)
Experience with Hosted Desktop and Remote Apps deployment and configuration
Experience with VMware and Linux based infrastructure
Experience with LDAP, SSSD SAMBA and Kerberos
Experience with Docker container and Kubernetes
Experience with Python

Framestore staff have the option to split their work time between home and the office, though some office attendance will be expected for certain team meetings, so the candidate will need to be able to commute into central London easily.
