We are a small team in Chicago and everyone works on a broad variety of tasks, and the Technical Director, Design will be expected to leverage both their technical and artistic skills by working on the box in a variety of generalist capacities including; CG asset work, motion design, and tool development or general problem solving as projects require.
This is a full-time staff role with benefits, and although we are currently working remotely, this position will eventually require at least some onsite work in our Chicago studio.
Working on shots of a high level of complexity
Troubleshooting projects when they are challenged, working with the producers and supervisors to deliver projects on time and with high quality CG and motion graphics.
Apply best practices for efficient and effective development; look for opportunities to streamline and fully utilize current and new technology solutions
Work directly with the global Integrated Advertising Pipeline team to implement needs for design team
Ongoing research and awareness of advancements in technology and software, striving to be up to date with the best tools for the team
Advanced skills in Maya, Houdini, C4D, and After Effects
A working knowledge of a rendering software - EG Arnold, V-Ray, or Redshift
Familiarity with scripting e.g. python is a bonus
A working knowledge of Nuke
Experience working with concept artists, designers, and VFX teams, in both 2D and 3D
Strong communication skills are critical. Must be able to work within a team and communicate and articulate your ideas well

Must be self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks based on production needs
