Job description

Framestore’s Integrated Advertising division is expanding our staff compositing team and are looking for an experienced Mid level Flame Artist to join us in working on a broad range of high end content including advertising, episodic, and immersive projects.


Flame Artists are responsible for creating visual and special effects and other images using Flame for high-end commercial advertising. They will composite the numerous elements that complete a visual effects shot while developing live-action, CG imagery and 2D elements into single composites.

Responsibilities


  • Working in a suite with clients, both creatively and when finishing projects

  • Work closely with vfx supervisors and lead artist as well as producers

  • Conforming edits including manipulating EDLs, working with offline edits, eye-matching material where necessary

  • QC & Mastering requirements including comprehensive knowledge of broadcast requirements

  • Support Producers in bidding projects and helping creative directors or vfx supervisors pitch and win the 2D aspects of projects

  • Provide visually creative and timely solutions to directors.

  • Communicates with other VFX staff and departments on the status of work.

  • Able to manage time effectively and give accurate assessments of the workload and the time required to complete tasks.

  • Help troubleshoot any Flame technical issues across projects, providing solutions to problems that will improve the production and project efficiency and enable projects to be delivered on time and to a high standard.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment where Flame artists perform at their highest ability.


Job requirements

Essential Skills


  • 3+ years experience on commercials using Flame

  • Broad skill set across all areas of flame, showing strong compositing skills as well as project management, finishing and mastering

  • Must be highly organised and have the ability to juggle and prioritise several projects at once in a highly efficient manner

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both clients and staff

  • Understanding of Clearcast rules for legal type and size, flashing

  • An understanding and commitment to providing superior service to commercials clients, both from a technical and creative point of view.
