Job description

The main purpose of the role is to set up and support the Production workflow in our new Framestore Mumbai facility and help manage the communication with various outsourcing companies we use.

The Global Outsource Department Manager - based in London reporting to Global Head of Resourcing & London Head of Resourcing


  • Assisting with setting up the communication between LDN/MTL Production teams and Mumbai/ Outsource vendors.

  • Works with finance to flag subcontract agreements for all shows and all outsource vendors (excl Mumbai)

  • Travel to Mumbai to support the team in setting up workflows and assist with implementing Framestore structures and processes. Once travel is permitted.

  • Travel to Montreal to build relationships with DMs and Producers. Once travel is permitted.

  • Build and maintain outsource vendor relationships already in place. Sending weekly projections of outsourcing needs and following up with weekly calls to check current work is on schedule and update on future projects. Ensure outsource companies will hit their targets.

  • Reach out to potential new outsource vendors when additional outsourcing support is required. Sending them tests to gauge their abilities.

  • Ensure the Mumbai Visuals is up to date - cross-checking changes in LDN and MTL Visuals.

  • Weekly call with Pune to ensure we’re crewing to the agreed amount for each dept.

  • Weekly call with MD in Mumbai to provide updates and support.

  • Coordinate and discuss with the local show production team to resolve any resource and scheduling conflicts or concerns that arise with Mumbai and outsource vendors

  • Weekly meetings with DMs in LDN and MTL to review requirements for their departments.

  • Providing training and support to Mumbai Head of Resource and Mumbai DMs

  • Work with HOPs and GHOR to set up production workflows, including outsource & Mumbai Shotgun procedures, package deliveries and budget tools.

  • Work closely with MTL and LDN DMs, HODs, and GHOR to assign resources.

Job requirements

  • A thorough understanding of VFX and CG pipelines
  • Previous experience as a coordinator or line producer in a film or related environment
  • Strong understanding of Framestore key stakeholders and have experience with cross-site communication.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to bring multiple projects to delivery for specific deadlines
  • Proven experience in strategic scheduling.
  • Problem-solving skills, particularly when resolving resource and crewing issues
  • Negotiation skills and diplomacy
  • A proven ability to establish good relationships with senior crew and an understanding of how to build a successful team around a core; taking into account both skills and cultural fit to the company
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all documents and reports are maintained to the highest level
  • Strong communication skills, Takes a diplomatic approach to communication, negotiating effectively with stakeholders while taking into account cultural differences and requirements
  • Strong people management skills to ensure artists feel supported and have trust in you
  • Self-motivated to take on a broad range of tasks in partnership with HR and recruitment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

    Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools like Shotgun is a plus
  • Previous experience in a VFX facility
