Job description

Framestore is a world leader in visual effects and animation across Film, TV, Commercials and Immersive. Having won multiple industry awards for our work, Framestore is looking for a Programme Manager to join the Technology Teams at Framestore and manage the Global Technology Project Management Organisation.

You will be working with all the Technology teams across Framestore to establish, own and maintain the global development roadmap for technology. Gathering metrics from Scrum Masters and Tech Producers / Coordinators, you will maintain a global overview of development velocity and support overhead across all development teams at Framestore. You will further organise, chair and present regular update meetings for key stakeholders in senior management, presenting the overview of Technology yourself, calling on Senior Engineering Leadership and Technology Project Leadership to give more detailed updates per project.

In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and maintaining accurate records of the predicted and actualised global technology project and support spend across all technology teams.

In order to establish the inputs to the Technology development roadmap, the Programme Manager will own the Technology Project Ideation funnel. This will involve ensuring that all project proposals are input into the single project ideation funnel and prioritised by the appropriate Product Leads for each area of the business.

Some projects will be funded through grants and the Programme Manager will additionally have responsibility for leading the team delivering effective project management of the grant process.

This position reports into the CTO. 

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain on behalf of all stakeholders the global Framestore Technology Roadmap.

  • Key point of contact for Senior Management, Supervision and wider stakeholders for cross functional Technology projects running through Framestore.

  • Maintain the financial view of all Technology Project spend at Framestore.

  • Liaise with the Senior Technology Leadership Team to establish Technology maintenance requirements and priorities.

  • Liaise with the Senior Product Team to establish development project priorities.

  • Ownership and Maintenance of Technology project ideation funnel.

  • Working with the Production Management team and project leads, establish and maintain plans for technology projects.

  • Ensure all technology projects adhere to and are run according to principles that permit accurate measurement of their velocity and resource consumption.

  • Ensure all Technology projects are effectively resourced and led.

  • Ensure all Technology projects are appropriately defined and have clear and measurable value to the company.

  • Ensure all grants are run correctly and maintain good working relationships with funding bodies.

  • Evolve and improve the collaborative platform and process to establish the global technology roadmap

Job requirements

  • 5+ Years previous experience in Technology Management.

  • Strong Interpersonal skills.

  • Experience and proven proficiency managing, mentoring and developing Project Management talent.

  • Scrum Master Certification.

  • High level of proficiency in Jira and Confluence.

  • Experience of working in a structured development environment (agile, CI/CD, code review).

  • Experience designing and delivering systems to provide high quality Technical support.

  • Experience managing and leading project management teams.

  • Willing to learn and adapt to new and emerging technologies.

Desirable skills & experience
  • Previous experience as a Programme Manager for a 50+ Headcount Engineering Team.

  • 5+ years of experience in the VFX / CG / Games Industry.

  • Experience writing, submitting and managing Grant project
