Framestore is looking for a Technical Project Manager to help oversee and drive the day-to-day working of our Engine development team towards success, working with colleagues across the creative, technical and operational areas of the business. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for driving the productive efforts of the Engine development team through facilitating continuous improvement, optimising productivity and guiding the team through commitments using agile techniques, principles, and values. They will work closely with colleagues across our software and technology teams to understand requirements and priorities to drive the successful delivery of our Engine development milestones.
Apply agile principles, values, and techniques to organise and maintain a clear direction for the development team and communication to other stakeholders.
Maintain a strong and aligned relationship with the team’s product manager and product owners, obtaining required information for team success
Manages Film, TV and Immersive project support channels and works with relevant team members to provide necessary support and feedback.
Work closely with members of other technology departments in the procurement and deployment of necessary hardware and software required to meet our goals
Works with the Product Manager to track team progress on the project roadmap and makes adjustments as needed, factoring in all other dependencies
Regularly updates and reports on key project metrics, including crewsheets and budgets, to ensure the teams resources are being used effectively
Shields teams from external interferences that can jeopardise iteration goals
Fosters a team attitude of constant improvement to working processes
Experience in a games, VFX or software industry team in a project manager, producer or scrum master role
Detail driven and have excellent problem-solving abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, POs, PMs, designers, and all leadership levels
Zeal for team performance and practice excellence
Proven ability to prioritise, multitask, and handle complex issues and relationships
Previous experience working with game engines, particularly Unreal Engine.
Having worked in a software development team
Awareness of CG software and tools
