As a Department Manager at Framestore, you will play a vital role in building, supporting, and retaining top-tier talent across our artist and production teams for VFX projects. You'll ensure projects are appropriately resourced, coordinate cross-functional communication, and manage departmental operations with a focus on efficiency and people-first leadership.
What you’ll do
Resource Management
Partner with Heads of Department, Producers, and Supervisors to allocate the best internal talent to VFX projects, optimising crew assignments across multiple shows to maximize efficiency, manage multi-site communication between other global divisions to assist the Head of Resourcing, and ensure unallocated crew can be utilised.
Planning and Scheduling
Support the Head of Department in building balanced project teams considering expertise, experience, and budget, allocating and planning for upcoming project demands, induction and staff development.

People Leadership
Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment, promoting high morale through regular team check-ins, social events, and team-building activities. Advise on contractual matters, project assignments, development, and training, proactively addressing concerns and supporting wellbeing.
Performance and Development
Create a culture of feedback alongside the Head of Department, offering transparency and developmental opportunities, partnering with the training team to ensure crew members’ learning and growth needs are met, engage in pay negotiations and maintain pay parity within our teams
