About the role
As our Lead FX TD, you will be the engine and the visionary for the FX department on your show. You won't just be managing—you'll be leading from the front.
What you’ll do:
Lead, Mentor & Manage: You will guide and inspire a talented team of FX TDs, overseeassigning tasks that play to their strengths while managing their progression and professional growth.
Set the Standard: You'll lead by example, demonstrating an expert standard creating natural (and unnatural) phenomena utilising simulations in particles, rigid-bodies, fluids etc. and other procedural or stochastic systems. When the hero shots come in, you'll be ready to jump in, take artistic responsibility, and build the templates and tools that empower the whole team.
Be the Project Hub: You'll be the key point of contact for supervisors and production, making sure the team is meeting schedules and show deadlines. You'll ensure bidding and scheduling are accurate by anticipating creative and technical challenges before they become problems.
Communicate with Clarity: You will ensure clear, calm, and proactive communication about creative solutions, scheduling, and any potential delays. You’ll maintain relationships with all other departments, addressing any issues promptly.
Develop Your Team: Working closely with the FX HOD, you’ll ensure hte team are producing high quality work. You'll be a dedicated mentor, providing regular feedback, quality control, and guidance on how to present work effectively in dailies.
