The Role
As an Animator at Framestore, you'll produce high-quality animation which creates compelling, story-driven and action-packed moments that fit within the style and pacing of the film
To do this, you'll work closely with the lead animator and animation supervisor, as well as the rigging and pipeline departments, to whom you'll provide suggestions and feedback to improve character setup, visual quality, rigs and tool functionality.
But it’s not just about the artistry; what else is on your pallet :
Respecting schedules and deadlines for the submission of plans, as well as the ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team.
Ongoing communication with the production team and supervisor regarding schedules and deadlines.
Ongoing training in the use of new tools, software, data and related technology.
How to excel in this role?
Have at least 5 years experience in a similar position
Thorough knowledge of Maya
Knowledge of movements, weights, balance, textures and shapes
Knowledge of rigs and typical rigging set-ups, animation processes and data transfer between tools
Reliability, ability to manage time well and meet deadlines, even under pressure
Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills within the team and with other departments.
Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and technical skills
Nice to have
Working knowledge of modelling ,rigging and scripting with Mel or Python
Experience working with motion capture data and/or classical animation or traditional art experience
Knowledge of human and animal anatomy and the ability to draw living beings
