We’re looking for a developer with a range of experience to join our New York based team. Developers are primarily responsible for assisting in devising and implementing both internal prototypes, and delivering high-quality products and projects for both IP and brand clients across a range of mediums on cutting edge hardware; VR, AR, real-time animation, virtual production and other exciting platforms.

This is a full-time staff position with benefits, that encourages following a hybrid work model that combines in-office and remote workdays. Ideal candidates will be based locally in New York.


Responsibilities

  • Develop clean, optimized high and low-level code in engine within the designed framework

  • Identify technical issues and solve complex problems with innovative solutions

  • Develop and test code, fix bugs, and profile and optimize code to an agreed design strategy

  • Document and peer review technical designs with other engineers

  • Research innovative ideas to improve efficiency and satisfy technical requirements, especially when it comes to convergence areas involving the usage of game engines to produce non-interactive content.

  • Work with Producers, technical and creative leads, to provide input for the budgeting process for technical development/engine elements of a production

Job requirements

  • Extensive experience in game/engine development
  • Experience with XR hardware platform(s)

  • Strong experience with C++

  • Proactive innovator with the awareness and ability to jump into alternative tools/languages/environments to find solutions

  • Strong experience with Epic’s Unreal Engine

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Software architecture, mathematics and physics understanding

  • Experience integrating online services and/or open source tools that take advantage of modern and evolving technologies


Desirable Skills & Attributes

  • Professional exposure to Unity or other modern game engine(s)

  • Familiarity with other languages and approaches, such as Javascript, powershell, python and c#

  • Positive attitude towards learning and sharing

  • Deadline oriented; able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to solve problems as they arise and remain calm in high-pressure situations

  • Experience with Unreal’s graphics pipeline

  • Understanding of Computer Graphics process and/or VFX pipeline/workflows


New York City Employees: Pay Range: $85,000 - $120,000 per year.


The posted range describes the minimum to maximum range for this job description in the state of New York. The range is posted in accordance with the New York City Pay Transparency Bill. The range for this same position may be lower or higher in markets outside of New York City. Pay is dependent on the applicant's relevant skills, experience, and qualifications
