About the role

As a Tracking / Matchmove Artist, you will bridge the gap between live-action footage and 3D space, ensuring all digital elements sit seamlessly within the final frame. Working at the foundation of our visual effects pipeline, you’ll play a pivotal role in accurately reconstructing camera moves, object paths, and environment geometry to set up downstream departments for success in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Create accurate camera and object motion files that flawlessly match original background plate photography.

  • Build precise 3D geometry for key static objects and environments to recreate the scene layout.

  • Position camera and object tracks within the 3D scene, validating spatial accuracy against live-action footage.

  • Render wireframe passes over background plates to rigorously verify track accuracy before handoff.

  • Partner with Leads, production teams, and downstream VFX departments to ensure CG elements blend seamlessly into every shot.

Job requirements

  • An educational background in Computer Graphics, Animation or another related course

  • A strong understanding of the basic principles of computer graphics

  • Basic knowledge of Maya, 3DE, Linux and a compositing package

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to efficiently meet deadlines

  • A good understanding of photography and the effects of different lenses on perspective

Desirable Skills:

  • Mel and/or Python scripting skills
